Kim Hyun Joong is currently leading a popularity poll on Yahoo! Taiwan. Yahoo! Taiwan and Yahoo! Hong Kong have come together for the Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards 2009 and in the Taiwanese poll, Kim Hyun Joong is in first place for the Asia section with 401,235 votes.Also, his group SS501 is in 2nd place with 60,396 votes which technically means he has almost 500,000 votes. It's been known that Boys Over Flowers started playing in Taiwan but the popularity of the show proved itself through this poll. Goo Hye Sun is in 6th place, Lee Min Ho in 11th, and Kim Bum in 22nd.Guess it's Jihoo sunbae over Goo Jun Pyo in Taiwan.Excluding the Boys Over Flowers cast, Super Junior is in 4th place with 22,448 votes, Lee Jun Ki is in 8th and Yoon Eun Hye is in 9th. Is this a poll for Asia or Korea?A representative of Yahoo! Korea said, "This poll shows how big Hallyu is. I hope Korean stars bring in more votes in the days that are left for the poll."These polls are for an actual awards show that is to be held in Hong Kong on December 14th. Kim Joon struck by H1N1 virus

Having been cleared of having H1N1 earlier in the month, it looks like Kim Joon cannot escape his fate as it was revealed late on 26th November that he has tested positive for H1N1. This brings to a total of 3 celebrities who have tested positive for H1N1 on the 26th, with earlier confirmed cases being SHINee's Taemin and MBLAQ's Thunder.According to a representative from Planet 905, Kim Joon is now in hospital receiving treatment, which includes the taking of Tamiflu. His condition is currently stable although there's considerable impact to Kim Joon's upcoming broadcast schedule in Korea and overseas, including a 2D1N trip to the Philippines for a fanmeeting on the 30th.With 30th November still a few days away, a decision will be taken soon accordingly, depending on Kim Joon's recovery speed and health condition.

SS501’s first goodbye stage on Music Bank

SS501's performance of "Love Like This" on this week's Music Bank marks the first of three goodbye stages. With only two more goodbye stages remaining, I'm sure fans will watch this performance with a bitter sweet feeling. Once again, the boys of SS501 prove that "Love Like This" is still just as infectious as ever. It's really a pity that this performance marks the beginning of the end. Although, I'm sure fans will find it hard to complain when the parting gift is five very good looking guys dancing to a catchy tune.

It was unfortunate that SS501 couldn't top their goodbye with another K-Chart win. But it has been a good run with 2 K-Chart wins in the bag for Love Like This.

Kim Hyun Joong flung his remote after watching MKMF

On the 26th November episode of KBS2TV's Happy Together: Season 3, the guest-star list included SS501's Kim Hyun Joong and Kim Kyu Jong, as well as infamous comedian Lee Hyuk Jae. Kim Hyun Joong, in particular, had an interesting story to tell.He first started by saying, "My ideal woman is Lee Hyori." Then as an afterthought added, "I've thrown my remote control at my TV one time because of her."He continued, "I was watching TV when I saw T.O.P. and Hyori's performance at the MKMFs. When I saw him kissing her on the mouth, I got so angry that I just chucked my remote at the TV. I said I'd give up on her, but she's still my ideal girl."

He also talked about the episode of Family Outing he filmed alongside her, "Lee Hyori was still pretty without makeup. But I thought to myself, 'Wow, noona's gotten older. She's aged a bit,'" which garnered a lot of laughs from the guests and the audience alike.I've heard quite a few quirky celeb stories, but I must admit that hearing about a celebrity throwing their remote at the TV is certainly a first. Is it weird that this reminds me of all those articles about people breaking their TVs after the Nintendo Wii came out? I wonder how his poor TV is doing...

Say goodbye to SS501

After a whole month of nonstop promotions for their new highly infectious song, Love Like This, it is now time to say our goodbyes to the quintet. Well, at least on the stage. SS501 will be officially ending their activities with their last stage this week on various music shows. Their farewell stages include KBS 2TV Music Bank on the 27th, MBC Show! Music Core on the 28th, and SBS Inkigayo on the 29th. They will also be making their appearances on the 5th of next month on Show! Music Core, as they will have a special live episode from the Jeju Island.Although you won't be able to see the boys any more, don't cry yet. SS501 will now focus on overseas promotion in other Asian countries to take part in the famous k-pop phenomenon. Also, they are planned to make a comeback with a new album early next year. Stay tuned to allkpop for their last Music Bank performance tonight! Do you think they will leave the stage with another first place trophy?

Proof of SS501's Albums SUCCESS (Philippine Release)

Let me share you something about the albums of SS501 here in the Philippines.

Last week, I have read a blog in triplesphilippines.blogspot.com about the album release of SS501. I don't know when it was released, maybe that detail is not included or i didn't read the whole blog well..
I saw a picture of ladies with the albums in thier hands outside the AstroPlus. (I believed the outlet was in MOA).. I was so shocked when I saw those pictures.. it was like "Unbelievable! SS501 albums are available now in the Philippines?? OMG.." that's why.. when we went to
SM Mall of Asia (MOA) earlier, i asked my mom to let me see the albums..

First, we went to Odessey to canvass how much were the albums. I'm so excited to see the albums and touch them using both of my hands. But I was disappointed. The saleslady told me that they don't have anymore copies of the albums because they were sold-out.. (aww..)

But after that disappiontment, I didn't lose hope.. I told myself, "Maybe AstroPlus still have copies of them". So, I went to AstroPlus. When I entered the outlet, albums of Super Junior, SHINee and Girls' Generation are the first ones that I saw. After checking how much each of the albums, I asked the saleslady if they have SS501 albums.. the response was: AGAIN, SOLD-OUT! :(( Another saleslady suggessted me to check at the mall's department store. I followed that recommendation. While walking, i was a little sad. The sentence "Oh my gosh, Triple S Philippines, why did you not left at least one album for me? huhu, pity patricia!" is lingering in my head..

After a while, this is it.. at this point, i'm a little afraid to be disappointed again..
When the saleslady saw me, I immediately asked her about the SS501 albums. The response was given. I told myself "THANK YOU LORD! THEY HAVE IT!" I followed her path towards the albums. When i saw them, she left me to assist another customer. I breathed deeply. I saw with my two eyes and touched them with my both hands. I still can't believe SS501 albums are spreading.

One saleslady approached me. She said, "Those are the left ones." I asked, "Is it really huge sold-out of this album?" Then she responded that in just a week, people are buying SS501 Albums consecutively and frequently. The conversation ended there. I looked at the back of the album. So shocked to see the label "Php 650.00".

Beacuse it was really shocking for me, i don't know what to do next. I was stunned.
Right now, I can't afford to buy those albums of my idols. After a few seconds, i just took some pictures of them to post here in my blog. (I'm sorry to triplesphilippines.blogspot.com if i did what you did when you bought the albums, i really have nothing to do due to the very surprising price of the albums)..

Triple S, come to think of it. SS501's albums are more expensive than SuJu's, SNSD's and SHINee's.. but in just a week, SS501 became one of the top-selling albums. but for SuJu's, SNSD's, and SHINee's cases, which were less expensive, it took at least 3 weeks before they became one of the top-sellers..(i think?! that's what i have read in a blog around the net but forgotten the website)

SS501 Leader Kim Hyun Joong talks about Swine Flu ordeal

Recently, the members of SS501 talked with reporters about their recent comeback and the subject of leader Kim Hyun Joong's bout with swine flu / H1N1 came up.Kim Hyun Joong stated that the month of September was a very difficult time for him. At the time, he re-assured others saying everything is fine but now that the H1N1 ordeal is over he revealed how painful it actually was for him. He had constant stomach pains, bowel movements, diarrhea. His body was always hot and had very high temperature readings (104°F). He would cough non stop and had a severe sore throat. However, despite all this, he said the most difficult thing for him to endure was being alone in the hospital room all by himself (he was quarantined for a short while).Fellow SS501 member Park Jung Min stated that it was a very scary time for them. Hyun Joong is disappointed with SS501 members’ looks

SS501 currently in the midst of their Rebirth album promotions, recorded an episode of Star Golden Bell recently and their dorky personalities shone when they were asked questions by the program's host.

In the beginning, the SS501 members were asked, "Which member are you most envious of?", and the unanimous choice was leader, Kim Hyun Joong. When asked for a reason, Kim Kyu Jong said, "This person was born as a sculpture. As an artist, it's really enviable."

The host then turned his attention to Hyun Joong and asked him if there was anything about Kyu Jong's appearance that he was envious of, "Compared to being envious, I would like to touch on the things that disappoint me. Kyu Jong is actually dropping hair despite his young age", which led to laughters all around the studio.

That was not all as Hyun Joong continued in jest, "Even though I was born in the same year as Youngsaeng, he gains weight rather easily. As for Jung Min, my first impression of him was that he looks old. Even now, I still find that he looks old."

Korean Embassy to bring K-Pop stars to Manila only by public demand

Pinoys can finally meet their favorite Korean stars in November—but only if they demand it.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Philippines-Republic of Korea Diplomatic Relations, the Korean embassy is holding a cultural festival November this year. The festival will also cap year 2009 as the "Philippines-Republic of Korea Friendship Year," as stated by Proclamation No. 14298 signed by Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo last May 2008.

PEP had a chance to talk to Kiejoo Kim, Counselor for the Korean Embassy in the Philippines, last Thursday, Sept. 17, at Shangri-La Plaza Cinema 3 during the press screening for the upcoming Korean Film Festival in Shangri-La Plaza Cinema 3.

Kim said his Embassy is planning to bring Korean performers to the country.

"We are looking forward to a lot of events in November," he said. "There will be a cultural event, and we are going to invite cultural performers from Korea so that we can share our cultural legacy."

PEP asked Kim if the Korean Embassy is planning to include among the cultural performers the Korean pop (K-pop) stars currently making waves in the Philippine music scene today.

"I'm not in a position to guarantee who we can bring to the RP," Kim answered. "We will try our very utmost to bring our well-renowned Korean stars so that we can really enjoy together with the Filipino people."

But Kim quickly added that the plan can push through easily if Pinoys loudly voice out their demand, using surveys, blogs, signature drives, and other platforms.

"I think if there is a certain, a great number of audience, I think that should be a very convincing rationale that we really have to bring them here," Kim affirmed.

Besides, Kim said, the cultural festival will be borne out of "gratitude" felt by the Koreans to the Filipinos, who helped them achieve democracy and freedom in their country 54 years ago.

In 1950, the Philippines sent 7,000 troops to the East Asian country to fight in the Korean war, which ended five years later. It was fought between the Republic of Korea (South) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North).

"They sacrificed very much for a noble cause of defending democracy and freedom, and that's really why we feel so grateful to the Filipino people. That's the backdrop of the very sound relations between the countries," he said.

Kim added that this "sound" relationship made way for the two countries to forge close ties and enhance cooperation in other fields, like education.

Kim explained that similarities between the two cultures paved way for Koreans to migrate to the Philippines. This is why Pinoys enjoy Korean pop culture, he added.

"I think it's because of cultural affinity, and the way we feel grateful for the Filipino people. I personally feel quite amazed how the Filipino people enjoy and appreciate telenovela from Korea. That is so impressive, we really appreciate that you enjoy the Korean culture so much."

Examples of drama series that became hits in the Philippines are Autumn In My Heart, Jewel In the Palace, Full House, Stairway to Heaven, and Lovers In Paris—the last two currently being adapted by GMA-7 and ABS-CBN, respectively, as local versions.

And even if Korean songs are not played over the Philippine radio, legions of Pinoy fans are still using the Internet to enjoy music from K-pop stars like Wonder Girls, Rain, SNSD, Super Junior, DBSK, Se7en, BoA, TVXQ, 2PM, Big Bang and Sandara Park's 2ne1.

FILM FESTIVAL. To celebrate the "Philippines-Republic of Korea Friendship Year," the Korean Embassy is holding a week-long Korean Film Festival, featuring seven award-winning films from the East Asian country.

Leading the list of films to be shown is Oldboy, winner of the Grand Prix during the 2004 Cannes International Film Festival. Directed by Park Chan-wook, it tells a twisted story of murderous revenge and redemption.

The other films are Barking Dogs Never Bite (comedy), Sa-Kwa (romance), Beyond the Years (drama), The Show Must Go On (drama), Driving My Wife's Lover (drama), and Forbidden Quest (period piece).

Kim said the films were chosen according to how they could impart the Korean way of life to Filipino viewers.

"The films can show the life of the people, the nation, the country to other countries in a very condensed way. I think they are quite representative with the life of Korea," he said.

Korean Cultural Festival to feature K-pop boyband Shinee

For Pinoy K-pop fans, November is the season to be jolly.

To cap the year-long celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and the Philippines, the Korean Embassy will hold on November 19-27 the Korean Cultural Festival, which will let Filipinos have a taste of Korean food, dance, music, theater, and arts.

But the most-awaited event in the week-long festival is the free K-pop concert scheduled on November 27. It will feature popular Korean front acts like boyband Shinee, jazz band Winterplay, and energetic rap duo Mighty Mouth.

In an email message to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Blaise Regacho, Executive Assistant on Economic & Cultural Affairs for the Korean Embassy, said the concert was borne out of several petitions by avid K-pop fans in the country, to bring Korean stars to the Philippines. Composed of five the boys Onew, Taemin, Jong-Hyun, Key, and Min-Ho, Shinee is known for the group's danceable contemporary R&B songs. Since their debut last year, they have won music awards including Best Newcomer Artist in the 18th Seoul Music Awards. Shinee's fashion style of high-top sneakers, skinny jeans, and colorful sweaters created the "Shinee Trend" that's popular among college youth in Korea.

Winterplay is a group that mixes several musical genres like pop, jazz, blues, and bossa nova, to create a unique relaxed sound. The band is composed of vocalist Moon Hye-won, and her band Lee Joo-han (trumpet), Choi Woo-joon (guitar), and So Eun-kyu (contrabass).

Mighty Mouth is well-known for collaborating with famous celebrities like Sun-Ye of Wondergirls and Yoon Eun-hye of Coffee Prince fame. Mighty Mouth is composed of rappers 237 and Shorty j.

The free K-Pop concert is scheduled on November 27, 3 p.m. at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Manila.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS. The Korean Cultural Festival will open with "Taste Korea! Food Festival," on November 19-23 at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City. It will feature a cooking demonstration of popular Korean dishes, an exhibition of Korean agricultural products like Korean tea, and a presentation of Korean cookbooks and fine selections of special pots, pans, and dishes. Visitors will get a chance to eat samples of Korean food like japchae, kimchi, and bibimbap.

On November 25, the National Dance Company of Korea will present "Dance of Chun-Hyang," which will feature traditional Korean dances. Samulnori, a genre of percussion music that originates from Korea, will be presented on November 26 by the Noreum-Machi troupe. Both musical events will start at 8 p.m., at the CCP.

To cap the entire festival, a Philippines-Korea Friendship Parade along Roxas Boulevard in Manila will start at 10 a.m. on November 27. More than a dozen floats and thousands of marchers will demonstrate Korean customs and tradition. The free K-pop concert takes place on the same day.

SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong who showed off his acting skills or lack thereof on Boys Over Flowers is rumored to star in another Japanese drama remake (or possibly movie) titled You're My Pet. This drama better known as Kimi wa petto in Japan, was a very popular drama in 2003 and originally based off a manga (comic). The basic premise is that of a female editor (Su-Ae playing Ji Eun Ee) at a fashion magazine whom finds a good looking young man that ran away from home (Kim Hyun Joong playing Kang In Ho). When she finds him, she invites him to live with her in her home and she calls him "her pet."Since this drama (or rumored movie) lacks the star power of an F4, I don't know if it'll be really popular. But I'm curious to see if Kim Hyun Joong will improve on his acting skills from Boys Over Flowers. Some of his scenes were cringe-worthy at times so I hope he gets a lot better. I say this without snarkiness (a quality I think is growing far too overrated these days anyway): One would have thought that idol singer Kim Hyun-joong’s stiff, uncomfortable acting debut in Boys Before Flowers earlier this year would have convinced people to STOP casting him in high-profile projects, but alas ’tis not the case. He has just been cast as the lead in the film adaptation of popular Japanese manhwa-turned-drama Kimi wa petto, or You’re My Pet. The j-dorama aired in 2003 on TBS.
Like Boys Before Flowers, the Japanese original starred the popular idol-actor Matsumoto Jun (opposite Koyuki). The romantic drama unfolds as a woman fashion-magazine editor who is perfect in looks and talents comes to live with a good-looking young man. She and the man, who is first taken in and affectionately called her “pet,” gradually fall in love. The female lead is still currently casting.
The contract has yet to be finalized, according to Kim’s management, but should be made official soon. The film will begin shooting as soon as the casting is complete, and aims for a release date next year.
(I really thought Kim Hyun-joong would go the way of Se7en, as in, he’d realize that he was sorely limited in the acting arena and focus on his music. Coupled with his seemingly indifferent attitude toward acting in the first place — he had to be persuaded to take the BBF role by management who were eager to heighten his name recognition — I figured he’d fade from acting, not be cast as the lead in another high-profile remake. Again, I mean this without sarcasm, but I sincerely hope he hies himself to some intensive acting training if he wants a career in the field.)

SS501 Albums Sold Out On Its First Week Of Release in Manila!

SS501 albums Superhits, Deja Vu, and Find was released in Manila last October 26, and after just a few days of release, they're sold out! It's a momentous event for Triple S Philippines, having SS501 albums released here in our country. It's a dream come true for us Pinoy fans especially those who don't have the option to buy online. When we knew that 3 of SS501 albums were going to be released here by Warner in various SM music outlets, we were beyond excited! Triple S have gone in droves to the malls, and bought the albums the minute they were placed in shelves (some albums weren't even displayed because they were bought right away!) Fans from the provinces asked their friends and relatives in Manila to buy the albums for them. Some were sad because they weren't able to buy since there are no more units available.This was the first time SS501 albums were released here in the Philippines, and I can say that it was a SUCCESS! This just shows that SS501 has a HUGE fanbase here in the Philippines, and I hope that DSP and the boys are aware of that. If only they knew how much we Filipino fans LOVE THEM! Kim Hyun Joong is U R Perfect Man

SS501's Kim Hyun Joong made a shocking confession on the January 26th SBS Yashinmanman Show. He confesses that he almost died, not once, not twice but a SHOCKING three times over a period of six months while he lived as a runaway. He left home during his sophomore year of high school and lived like a bum with friends and local transients. He almost died from starvation, and was almost beaten to death. From what I understand he also was close to death by being almost fatally squished.

Kim Hyun Joong said that he was starving to the point that he and his friends ordered food at a restaurant, ate, and then ran away without paying with fistfuls of fried foods in hand. Wow, what a badass.

On the time he was almost beaten to death, Hyun Joong says that he and his ragtag group of friends ran into the a couple of drunken thugs and and got into a not-so-friendly argument, which resulted in his friend being beaten by the gangsters. Hyun Joong jumped in the middle of the beating, being beaten himself and luckily rendered the assailant unconscious by slipping on some newly fallen snow.

His final encounter with Death was when he was sleeping at an apartment complex construction site and was awaken just in time by the loud construction noises. Later he saw that the entire area was demolished except for the spot where he had been asleep just moments earlier.

And now it's been revealed that this miracle boy runs a chicken shop with his friends (based on a pact he made with his preschool friends) and he also made 100 million won (around $75,000) by working all kinds of jobs. He says he hasn't relied on his parents for money since junior high.

My, my... our little pretty boy has had quite the bad boy life. A Runaway, an actor, leader of SS501, CEO of a chicken house and now he can put escape artist on his resume too. Really? Is there anything this guy can't do? Perhaps, act?

I swear, I think Koreans are so good at being all melodramatic that the PR people make this kinda stuff up. I mean, really how much more publicity do you need, homeboy?! We get it, you're perfect. This guy was living on the streets and working his way into a pop group, and avoiding death and being best childhood friends with DBSK's JaeJoong and TOP from Big Bang??!? Really? SS501's Leader, Kim Hyun Joong, recently confessed on SBS Ya Shim Man Man 2 that during the filming of old variety shows, X-Man and Love Letter, he started to like a female celebrity at first sight. We don't know who this particular celebrity is, but Hyun Joong even said:
"I would think of her when I was on my way home after the program, and even when I was about to go to sleep."I remember the times Kim Hyun Joong came out on X-Man. He was never really noticed, because the camera would barely be focused on him. On the Nov 7th episode of Champagne, SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong chose the past Miss Korea as his ideal girl in the "Ideal Girl World Cup" corner of the show. In those 32 rounds, there were Goo Hye Sun, Lee Min Jung, and Han Chae Young, who were all from Boys Over Flowers. However in a surprising move, he dropped all of them. He stated that "In Boys Over Flowers, I was shaking for the kiss scene with Han Chae Young, so I mouth washed every morning." which was why he dropped the BOF cast.When SS501 first debuted, Kim Hyun Joong stated that his ideal girl was Lee Hyori. During one part of the show, the five SS501 men had to fight to be the ultimate man for the ladies. Kim Kyu Jong is a mama’s boy

SS501 has been quite a lot of shows this week including SBS Quiz! Sixth Sense which airs tomorrow. On the show, Kim Kyu Jong stated that he wouldn't marry someone his parents disapproved of. He said, "I won't marry someone if my parents don't allow it. My parents' marriage was disapproved of but now they're happy. But for me, I love my parents so I don't think I could marry someone if my parents strongly say no." This is the first time I've heard that kind of answer from someone. Usually, people stand up for their love but I guess Kyu Joong is not capable of giving it his all for his lucky lady. Kim Hyun Joong and Park Jung Min disagreed with the mama's boy and said they would still marry the girl even if their parents didn't want them to.

Actress Han Chae Young has been chosen to advertise for a Chinese electronics brand. Her agency, BH Entertainment has confirmed it earlier on Friday that she has signed with China’s major electronics company, BBK, to promote its products. BBK is one of the biggest companies in China’s electronics industry, who has hired famous celebrities including Chinese actors Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Steven Chow and Hallyu star Song Hye Gyo. An official at BH Entertainment also explained further that Han Chae Young hasn’t really worked much in there, but her popularity in China is rising rapidly due to her hit drama “Delightful Girl Chun Hyang”. It got high ratings when it was airing in China, so now she’s getting a lot of attention as a new Hallyu star. Han’s new movie “Girlfriends” will be out sometime around Christmas this year.

SS501 closes out Music Core with “Love Like This”

The SS501 boys may have delighted their fans all around with their recent comeback but they haven't yet rake in any awards for their efforts.Awards might be just awards, but it's still nice to have them to see it as recognition for your efforts. Having made their comeback last week, SS501 has had no luck with the awards yet and the wait will probably have to be prolonged seeing that they are only performing on Music Core this week. Some consolation in that they closed out the 7th November episode of Music Core this afternoon with "Love Like This".

On November 2nd, Kim Bum returned to Korea after his trip to London, England. He won't have much time to rest because he's scheduled to be in Osaka, Japan for a fan meeting on November 8th. He's also planning to release his first single album during the trip as well.At the previous Japanese fan meeting, Kim Bum sang I'm going to meet her, a promotional song for Boys Over Flowers. He recorded a Japanese version of the song and will be releasing this single in Japan.

In the SS501 special for KBS TV ‘Shin Dong Yup Shin Bong Sun’s Champagne’, Kim Hyun Joong took on the challenge of the Top 32 Ideal Type World Cup. Birth Sisters, SNSD’s Jessica and f(x)’s Krystal were one of the candidates for the ideal types. Kim Hyun Joong revealed to Jessica, who was on the set that day, that, “Krystal is more beautiful than you”.
Kim Hyun Joong proudly said, “I am telling my honest feelings” also “In So Nyuh Shi Dae, Jessica’s beauty is average” which made everyone present laugh.

I’m passing it along for all of you with accounts at Netflix to help get more Korean dramas available at the online rental service:Hi,I need your help. According to their reports there are not enough people adding our titles into their queues and we are at risk of not being able to share this very important and popular genre with the millions of people that Netflix has access too. If you didn’t already know, K-dramas are enjoyed throughout the world by millions of people already either dubbed or subtitled in several other languages. For some reason it has yet to catch on in the US and Canada outside of mostly other Asians and other ethnic groups. We will be releasing the wildly popular K-drama Boys Over Flowers this November 17 and Netflix currently has it available on their site but I just got an email this morning saying they will hold the order until they see the numbers prove that there is a demand for this title and our other titles.Clearly there is a demand for it but, unfortunately, the majority of people who currently watch our DVD’s are collectors and tend to purchase rather than rent. It was only yesterday when DSP Media unleashed their new 7-member girl group, Rainbow. DSP really have no fear of debuting Rainbow now as they must have felt that Kara is already well-established themselves for them to do this.A day later, they have released another teaser picture of the girls although we can't quite see their faces this time. They are all dressed up in colorful dresses in suggestive poses which reminds me of a certain Japanese girl group. DSP Media reveals new girl group Rainbow

Last month, rookie male groups MBLAQ and BEAST attempted to take back the kpop scene for the guys, but it looks like the girls are back again - new gal group Rainbow is here to color up the kpop world!Rumors of this group have been brewing for many months now. Just moments ago, DSP Media, the agency behind SS501, KARA and Fink.L, confirmed the suspicions and revealed the new girl group to the Korean public."After four long years of training, these girls have developed the best vocal and dance skills around," a DSP representative revealed. "They were affectionately called 'rainbow' in their training days, a nickname that has gained popularity. We chose this word as the group's name because each girl has a different charm. Furthermore, this name has more meaning because it was generated by fans."Akin to the promises they made when KARA debuted, DSP is already comparing Rainbow to Fin.K.L, stating, "The members of Rainbow were picked so that their physical appearances wouldn't be inferior to Fin.K.L"As the teaser image suggests, the girls will already be coming out with an album upon their debut titled Gossip Girl.Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical about the promised "originality" of this group - with lackluster word choices for their group name and album, we can only hope that this isn't just another rehashed version of every other girl group out there. Also, is it just me or does the bottom-right girl on the album look a tiny bit like a grown-up Goo Hara of KARA? DSP denies boycotting MAMA

There were rumours circulating this morning about DSP Media artistes, SS501 and Kara, boycotting the upcoming MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards). But that has been shot down by DSP immediately. DSP Media said, "SS501 released their album very late so they are not nominated and it makes sense. We did not say that they are boycotting."When asked about Kara's appearance at MAMA, DSP said, "We haven't decided if Kara will attend yet, but we are currently in discussions over it."What would K-Pop be like without SM, the trot singers and DSP? Though the boycotting news is disappointing, we still have some artistes to look forward to on 21st November. The Korean media are really trying to stir up unnecessary trouble.

Kim Hyun Joong is a huge fan of Kim Yuna

SS501's leader Kim Hyun Joong aka Jihoo sunbae admitted on the recording SBS Quiz! Sixth Sense Competition that he is a big fan of figure skater Kim Yuna.Aside from promoting SS501's new album, the leading man talked about how he's just another fan boy of the beautiful and talented ice princess of Korea. During the recording, there was a question regarding figure skating. The MC asked Kim Hyun Joong if he's ever seen a figure skating performance by Kim Yuna and Kim Hyun Joong replied saying, "Every time she has a competition, I download her performance and watch it." He even knew the concept of Kim Yuna's last figure skating competition performance and surprised everyone. I guess he has some true love for that girl. She was also picked by Nichkhun of 2PM as his ideal girl. She's one lucky girl.But she isn't the only one that Kim Hyun Joong is talking about. On KBS Champagne, Kim Hyun Joong was part of the Ideal Type World Cup where he faced the decision of choosing between SNSD's Jessica and f(x)'s Krystal.

Jessica, who was present at the recording of the episode, revealed, "Kim Hyun Joong has told me that Krystal is prettier than me." Kim Hyun Joong then said, "In SNSD, Jessica is somewhere in the middle in terms of looks."Kim Hyun Joong's love for Kim Yuna will air on the 8th and his final decision between to the Jung sisters of SM Ent. will be revealed on the 7th.
